ON Running CloudMonster 3 - 1 mile run review
ON model built for high mileage, great cushioned stable ride
Hey everybody, Hal Kearney with Radcliffe's Run Walked doing another 1-mile shoe review on the Wahoo KICKR treadmill this morning. Today we're going to do the Cloud Monster 3 from On. Notice the name of the company is just On, just ON, not On Cloud, which everybody likes to say, or QC, which is another one that always makes us chuckle. But just On. A Swiss company known for fantastic engineering and great pieces of material.
So, we're going to jump on the treadmill and see how this one goes.

Okay, 1-mile shoe review is in, and we are very excited to tell you that this is a very runnable shoe. Looks kind of clunky on the wall and overall, it kind of has a little bit of a stiff look to it, but actually has great feel. The CloudTec cushioning system is very soft. They used a little bit of a speed board through here to make it a little bit more responsive.
6-mm drop. They reduced the amount of weight by dropping these rubber pods in here as opposed to making one solid outsole, which is really nice. And the fit was really good. Actually 11 and ½ and this comes in at 11.9 oz, so very very runnable and overall extremely impressed. I have a couple pair of ON RUNNING SHOES I wear casually, never actually run in them any big distances before and I think this is one that you'll be able to do those longer run in.
We did have a couple questions, and I'll do the one real fast. One I guess they saw my little trademark here on the side of my leg. They want to know what that was. Some people call it fish bones. What it actually is… is a medieval Irish alphabet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogham
It's actually my family's last name. It goes down the side of my leg, just kind of an awareness of where my family came from and respect to the Irish community. And that one has been kind of fun because it does look like some fish bones on the side of my leg and people want to know why.
